Guy Savoy – Everything they serve at this high-end Paris restaurant is top-notch, and while you pay for it with high prices, it’s worth every penny. Located in Paris, it is Michelin-star awarded many times over.
Berthillon – Claim to fame is the “best ice cream in the world.” And they may be right. These sorbets are to die for, as is the location: The heart of Paris across the street from the famous Notre Dame Cathedral. This is a must-have!
BIKE TRANSPORT
Our machine was a loaner from Ducati France, so many thanks to them. It needed to be shipped from Paris to Cannes, for which the Auto Train was perfect. It transports cars and motorcycles throughout the country to various locations. Half of it is made up of vehicle-housing units, while the other half is setup with passenger cars, so you can ride on the same train as your vehicle. Prices start at $140 Euro, depending on the length of travel.
The sunset in Cannes rivals that of anywhere in the world. No wonder the harbor is full of more mega-million-dollar boats than anywhere else on earth.

GEARBAG Don’t forget your passport. Pack warm for the early fall season in France, especially in the north. Down south it was far more comfortable, with temperatures in the high-60s, but once we got to Lyon it dropped severely, especially the further north we went, almost hitting freezing at some points. Safety is still important, so for the best of both worlds Angela and I were head-to-toe in the latest leather jackets, boots and gloves, plus top-of-the-line helmets, but made sure to layer plenty of long-underwear and clothing underneath.
